Research Grant

The Endocrine Society, Kerala Chapter is proud to introduce its Endocrine Research Grant Program, an initiative carefully designed to foster a robust culture of academic inquiry and promote high-quality endocrinology studies throughout the region. This program provides essential financial support aimed specifically at offsetting project-related investigative costs for dedicated medical professionals and trainees. Eligibility is strictly open to active members of the Endocrine Society, Kerala Chapter who are in good standing, as well as DM and DNB Endocrinology trainees currently studying under an eligible member at a recognized teaching institution. By requiring that the trainee's mentor assume direct scientific oversight, the program ensures that every backed project maintains the highest standards of academic rigor, ultimately advancing the broader field of endocrinology within Kerala's medical community.

To ensure proper stewardship of resources, the grant operates entirely on a reimbursement basis and is structured to fund only approved, project-specific investigations. Eligible expenses include laboratory essays, specialized imaging, and advanced genetic testing directly tied to the research. This funding is strictly restricted from being used as a fellowship stipend or salary support, nor can it cover travel expenses, equipment purchases, or routine patient care costs. No advance payments will be issued, meaning investigators must manage upfront costs and seek reimbursement upon presenting valid documentation of completed, pre-approved project expenses.

Applying for and maintaining the grant requires a strict adherence to ethical and administrative protocols. Prospective applicants must submit a comprehensive, detailed research proposal for review, and any study involving human participants must secure formal Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) approval before any data collection can commence. Once selected, awardees are expected to maintain clear accountability by submitting regular interim and annual progress reports, as well as presenting their findings at designated scientific sessions hosted by the Society. Finally, to honor the partnership, researchers must explicitly acknowledge the support of the Endocrine Society, Kerala Chapter Endocrine Research Grant Program in all resulting publications, abstracts, and scientific communications.
